Want to go pro? Our professional training
gives you top-notch training combined with unmatched flexibility,
allowing you to tailor your training to meet your needs.
We offer the following professional certifications:
PADI Divemaster (DM) The
DM course itself consists of:
- 7 theory modules
- 1 day of waterskills assessment and a first cut at a skill
circuit
- 1 day of stress testing and a second skill circuit
- 2-3 days of assisting in classrooms
- 2-3 days of leading dives
The above are the bare minimum requirements to be a Divemaster
- we generally recommend going beyond these minimum requirements.
Nothing beats experience when it comes to being a Divemaster,
and our DM Internship program is designed to provide that
experience: in this program, you would work as a DM, leading
dives, assisting with classes and conducting tune-ups. We'd
also go over regulator maintenance, how to fill tanks, eq
repair and so on - skills that are not taught in the formal
DM program but which are invaluable in the real world.
Rather than teaching you one way to do things, we encourage
you to work with all of our instructors - each of whom has
a unique style of operating. Pick out what works for you and
what doesn't work for you, and from there, develop your own
professional style.
You also need to have 60 logged dives by the end of the program
- our DM Internship Program includes all the diving needed
to get to this level.
PADI Assistant Instructor (AI)
The PADI AI course is a 3-5 day program, the first step in preparing
you for life as an instructor. During this course, you start
to learn how to be an effective instructor, more information
about the dive industry, how to teach confined water and open
water skills effectively and also how to manage liability. A
key benefit of splitting your training is that it lets you develop
your teaching skills and refresh your dive theory in a more
relaxed manner - which makes the whole process of becoming an
instructor a lot less stressful..
We have special tie-ups with Instructor Development Centers
in Thailand, whereby your entire AI fees get credited against
the price of an IDC - which allows you to spread out your spending
when it comes to taking the plunge towards becoming an instructor.
SSI Dive Control Specialist
(equiv to PADI AI):
The SSI DCS program is an extensive course, covering a wealth
of information about diving physiology, physics, diving safety
and more. We offer the SSI DCS rating either as a standalone
course, or in combination with the PADI AI course for people
want to maximize their employment potential.
SSI is a fast-growing certification agency, occupying the no.
1 spot in Australia - ahead of PADI, and coming second to PADI
in most other destinations. This means that SSI professionals
are in increasing demand (these days, SSI Instructors are the
most demanded dive professionals in the industry). Also, SSI's
unique philosophy to diver training makes it a very nice complement
to PADI, and gives you, as a working professional, more options.
In keeping with our dive philosophy, we don't run large,
high-volume courses. There really is no effective cookie-cutter
way to teach everyone how to become a dive professional -
and so we tailor our courses to meet the needs of each diver.
Becoming a professional means that you are responsible for
other people's safety - we take this very seriously and work
very hard to ensure that our dive professionals are indeed
capable of handling that responsibility.
